Weekend activities
Usually I'm unable to post much artwork on weekends as I am mostly not at home ^^; I recently started on a Horo sketch but I don't really like how it is turning out so I am not gonna post it here, hopefully I can come up with a better pose ^^!
However if you're interested in food, pets and random pictures, my tumbler had been recently updated :) I definitely have some nice pictures of cherryblossoms coming up later on!
I was going to blog about cutewithchris's Live in Toronto show but it sold out in less than an hour! :O (we're so proud of him tho!)
I got Uchi to help me call in to check for tickets but unfortunately we weren't able to get any...
As you can see I needed to bribe the little guy a bit LOL

Who can resist cute?!
Drew Uchi in a semi realistic style in flash recently, picked the more cantoonish version to use for the flash doll instead ^^;/

Suggestive
Full version in Gallery :3 I guess this piece of artwork is somewhat suggestive, in comparison to a lot of my other artwork ^^; Really enjoyed using Sai to ink this piece of artwork! I end up colouring most of it in photoshop tho ^^;
One of my all time favourite Mangaka is Masakazu Katsura san, I dare say he was possibly one of the (in)direct influence to my evolving art style. I was presented 2 translated mangas of Video girl Ai in my teens by an aquaintance from a comic shop -- so touched as I really enjoyed the 2 books when I borrowed them at the time, but couldn't afford buying the whole set from my pocket money.
I really like how sensual and soft the females he draws, and I strive to become a fraction as good as he is ^^! Years ago, he used to have a website where I actually submitted a fan art to, but unfortunately it is not online anymore ;_;
My dearest friend Saka actually managed to meet Katsura in person during one of the anime conventions in USA and kindly got me a wonderful autograph from him (which I treasure!) Maybe I should try to scan that sometime :P

tumblr and twitter
Recently discovered tumblr and I knew of twitter for a while now... Sooooo anyhows, tumblr will be my online scrapbook of sorts, gonna be putting most of my non art related stuff there, like cooking, photos maybe an occasional rambling. Have already copied a few posts there ^^
As for twitter, I'm currently following a handful of people at the moment and I guess once in a while (maybe a bit too often) I do have some random outbursts as to what I am doing at some moments in time :P LOL and I guess I should try to remember to twit on it when I have updates here and stuff ^^;
My tumblr and twitter I'll probably have a link somewhere in the Artist page sometime, or maybe on the side.... Decisions decisions...

Flash doll now animated!
The flash doll I made a while back is now lightly animated, she blinks once in a while, and you can see that she has a few more extra clothing :) I also animated the background a little with an idea brewing in my head for a while now, I hope you like the changes made so far!

Old art revisited in progress
Messed around with some effects on photoshop :3 Rather basic effects, as you probably can tell :P Haven't decide what colour shall her hair be... pink? also gotta decide on her clothing colour too... decisious decisions. Maybe I'll mull over it this weekend :)
Old art revisited
I was sorting out some artwork and found a few which I really liked but never got around colouring. Today managed to take some time to work on it in between some work :3
This inked drawing is most likely drawn in 2002, I forgot to date it after I finished inking it (oops) In the original scan, due to that the pen bleeds a bit on the paper, the lines are broken especially in the hair area. With my trusty old wacom (of many years) and photoshop, I managed to cleaned up most of the line art. Now it is ready for colouring ^O^!

Maid sketch in progress
Still quite busy, so drawing is slower than before, but did a sketch which I kinda like, hopefully I'll get to cleaning it up and coloring it soon :) Find the pose familiar? :P
I'm still undecided if I should ink the pencil sketch with pen and risk destroying the feel which I like, or try to clean up in photoshop -- which will probably take longer, like way longer to finish ^^;

Stir-fry Pineapple chicken breast
The original recipe was only pineapple, chicken breast and spring onion, but I ran out of spring onion a few days ago, and had celery and red pepper in the fridge. So I decided to come up with a variation :) Thankfully it worked! (Yatta!)
Had this colourful dish with rice, and saved some for lunch tomorrow for me and hubby :)
About 4-6 serving with rice
Ingredients:
- 1 pair of boneless/skinless chicken breast
- 3 sticks of celery
- 1 small red pepper
- 1 quarter of a small pineapple, skin removed
- 2/3 tablespoon of teriyaki sauce
Instructions:
1. Prepare the chicken breast by slicing it thinly and marinate with soya sauce, black ground pepper, cooking wine, corn starch and minced garlic.
(Note: Minced garlic is optional but the end result is more fragrant I find)
2. While the chicken breast slices is being marinated (about 20 minutes or so is good enough), prepare celery, pepper and pineapple by washing and then slicing them thinly and set aside separately.
Tip: You can wash and start to cook rice in a rice cooker before slicing the ingredients, so by the time the dish is done rice is ready as well :)
3. Drizzle a little vegetable oil in a non stick pan on medium heat, and pan fry the pineapple slices until it caramelized a bit, set a side on the serving dish or bowl, do the same for red-pepper after washing the pan quickly, put it together with the cooked fried pineapple slices.
4. Wash the pan with water, wipe dry and put the pan over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil, and pour in the marinated chicken. Stir fry until chicken is just cooked (just when you don't see any more pink) and put in the sliced celery.
Stir fry for a 1-2 minutes or until celery appears a little softened (try not to over cook) pour in the pineapple and red pepper, mix it together, add the teriyaki sauce and 1/4 of water, simmer about a couple more minutes and it's done ^O^!

Our poor cat Meowmeow had a weird injury on his bum which we discovered when it got worse, about a week and half ago, he has to wear the cone (or e-collar) so that he won't try to lick his 2nd uh hole open again :P
Had this image for a while in my head now, actually the version in my head is more simplified. Also have other versions in my head, like him trying to eat, jump up on the bay window etc etc. Maybe will doodle them when I have a chance to... Doodle is updated in Gallery.

Fresh from the kitchen :)
One of my favourite activities is food related which includes cooking and eating LOL, gonna try having some food related entries :P (unless there's violent objections!)
The top crust became like this cos I made the crust portion too thin ^^;
Took the crust portion and some of the instructions from here. The bun part, I used my favorite bread machine recipe and let bread machine make the dough :)
The serving for the bun dough was for more than 5 buns of course, so I used the rest for a pizza, which I will talk about a bit more later on ;)

Inspirational people - cutewithchris.com
All your dreams are... Alive!
I was checking out some links I check every other day (Sometimes everyday or hour :P) and I noticed that Chris was doing a wrap up on his recent Live show. I watched it and felt like I was so moved I could cry. Chris owns cutewithchris.com on the internet and he posts movie clips he produces by himself every monday.
Chris' regular weekly shows are not usually so "documentary", they're mostly entertaining and humorous in a slightly twisted manner, filled with cuteness and sometimes (if not all the time) drips with sarcasm and also includes a plastic horse or 2 for laughs ;D (okay and some hot people here and there too)
You probably would think that short clip each week is probably easy to make. But trust me it is not, having been in hours of recording to make 10 minutes clips before, I know Chris definitely puts effort to make it happen almost every monday possibly with his precious weekends, who knows possibly weekdays too, when a lot of people probably just want to relax and enjoy themselves.
I had the sheer luck to run into him in person May of 2007 when I was out on a small blythedoll meeting, and since he actually asked about our dolls that brave man (LOL)! I thought he looked familiar, and realized that he is Chris from cutewithchris.com (what a small world!) Funny thing was, I actually had came across his site ages ago when he (randomly?) added me on myspace -- possibly kinda like "handing out free tickets" to watch his show. I guess his shows had made an impression because it was pretty quirky and unique and I tend to remember faces :P
The point of this post is? Go check out cutewithchris.com! I would like to help hand out some "free tickets" to his online shows!
